Overview
When every second counts, our advanced Intensive Care Units provide the highest level of life support and monitoring in Tura.
Overview: The Safe Zone
Critical illness is the ultimate test of a hospital's capability. At A. Care Hospital, our Critical Care Department is the backbone of our 110-bedded facility. It is a sanctuary where advanced technology meets human compassion to save lives.
We understand that having a loved one in the ICU is a terrifying experience for a family. That is why our units are designed not just for medical efficiency, but for patient dignity. We have established one of the largest and most advanced Critical Care setups in the Garo Hills to ensure that critically ill patients do not need to risk long ambulance journeys to other cities—they can receive world-class stabilization and treatment right here.

Our Specialized Units
Critical care is not "one size fits all." We have dedicated units tailored to the specific age and medical needs of the patient.
NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
For our tiniest fighters.
Birth is a miracle, but sometimes newborns need extra help. Our Level-III NICU is a sterile, temperature-controlled environment designed to mimic the safety of the womb.
• Premature Care: Specialized incubators for babies born too early or with low birth weight.
• Respiratory Support: CPAP and ventilators designed specifically for tiny lungs.
• Phototherapy: LED light therapy for treating severe jaundice safely.
• Kangaroo Care: We encourage mothers to bond with their babies even while they are in care, supporting both emotional and physical healing.

PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit)
For children and adolescents.
Children are not just "small adults." Their bodies react differently to illness. Our PICU is staffed by doctors trained specifically in paediatric life support.
• Severe Infections: Management of pneumonia, meningitis, and severe dengue in children.
• Trauma Recovery: Post-accident care for children, focusing on pain management and gentle recovery.
MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit)
For severe illnesses.
This unit is dedicated to patients fighting life-threatening internal diseases.
• Respiratory Failure: Advanced ventilator support for severe asthma, COPD, or pneumonia (ARDS).
• Cardiac Support: 24/7 monitoring for heart failure and post-heart attack recovery.
• Sepsis Management: Aggressive treatment for severe blood infections and organ failure.
SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
For post-operative recovery.
Major surgeries—like neurosurgery or joint replacements—require close observation. The SICU ensures that patients wake up from surgery safely.
• Pain Control: Advanced protocols to ensure patients are comfortable after operations.
• Vital Monitoring: Continuous tracking of blood pressure and fluid balance to prevent post-surgical complications.
The Technology of Life Support
Our ICUs are equipped with systems that act as a safety net for the body's vital organs.
• Advanced Ventilators: Machines that breathe for the patient, allowing their lungs to rest and heal.
• Multipara Monitors: Screens that track heart rate, oxygen, BP, and ECG beat-by-beat, alerting doctors instantly if there is even a minor change.
• Infusion Pumps: Robots that deliver life-saving medicines at the exact micro-dosage required, ensuring zero error.
• ABG Analysis: Instant blood gas testing to check oxygen levels in the blood without sending samples to a faraway lab.
The Human Touch: Communication & Counseling
Machines save lives, but people heal people.
• 1:1 Nursing Ratio: For our most critical patients, we assign one dedicated nurse to one patient. They never leave the bedside.
• Family Counseling: We know the waiting room is the hardest place to be. Our Intensivists (ICU Doctors) provide regular, honest, and empathetic updates to the family, explaining the patient's condition in simple language, not medical jargon.
Why Trust A. Care Critical Care?
24/7 Intensivists: Unlike smaller clinics where a doctor visits once a day, our ICUs are staffed by qualified Critical Care specialists round the clock.
Infection Control: We treat the ICU as a "clean zone." Strict sterilization protocols and isolation rooms prevent hospital-acquired infections.
Integrated Care: If a patient in the MICU suddenly needs dialysis, our Nephrology team is there. If a stroke patient needs a scan, Radiology is next door. The whole hospital revolves around the ICU.
A Message to Families: In these walls, we fight for life with every tool we have. We carry the burden of worry so you can hold on to hope. Your loved one is in safe hands.
